OVERVIEW
Our St. Luke's physicians will work with your home country's doctor to arrange a date for your admission. Once admission is set, you will notify the International Patient center (IPC) of the date. At that time, a patient representative can assist with your flight arrangements, ground transportation, and hotel reservations for you and your family.
TIPS FOR YOUR HOSPITAL STAY
Please bring:
- Information to complete your medical records
- Insurance verification - If no insurance, be prepared to make a cash or credit card deposit or an authorizing bank wire.
- Personal items, such as nightclothes, robe, and slippers.
Please do not bring:
- Electrical appliances
- Valuables - If necessary, a patient representative can arrange for a safety deposit box.
YOUR ARRIVAL IN HOUSTON, TX
When you arrive at Bush Intercontinental Airport, or Hobby Airport, we can arrange for an aiport service representative who speaks your language to meet and guide you quickly through immagration and customs. We will ask for your travel information in order to provide this service.
Additionally, we can help provide options for transportation to the hospital or hotel.
ROOM REQUESTS
Whether you prefer a private hospital room or a luxurious Terrace Suite you can rest assured that you will receive excellent medical care from professional, dedicated staff.
SMOKING POLICY
The Texas Medical Center is a smoke-free campus.
MEDICATIONS/PRESCRIPTIONS
While you are a patient, your St. Luke's doctor will prescribe all of your medications. The pharmacy, located in the O'Quinn Medical Tower, can handle your prescription needs. Do not take any medications prescribed by other physicians unless instructed to do so by your St. Luke's physician.
