Executive Health Assessment

For many of us, a doctor’s visit can be a stressful and complex process—from scheduling appointments and tests to waiting in countless waiting rooms, from specialist consultations to additional follow-up visits. Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center understands the importance of time for busy individuals. That’s why the Executive Health Assessment Program provides an easy, efficient and comprehensive annual medical assessment and personalized strategies for achieving and maintaining optimum health and wellness within one visit. The program provides one-stop convenience for a full complement of medical exams and screenings designed to identify current and potential health issues. It’s a great way for individuals to monitor their health and track annual results.

Patient Benefits
All examinations and testing are scheduled in a single morning—taking approximately three to four hours. The health assessment includes:

Program Benefits
As a comprehensive evaluation of health, the Executive Health Assessment is administered by a board-certified internal medicine physician. Each assessment is customized to meet the individual needs of the patient. The program also allows immediate access to specialists should additional services be needed. The program is also available to employers who contract with St. Luke’s. Employers participating in the program can lower health costs for employees, save the company money while providing an excellent employee benefit.

Gold Exam
Recommended annual exam for men and women (age 40-49 )

Comprehensive Exam

  • Review of personal and family medical history
  • Complete physical exam
  • Evaluation of lifestyle health behaviors and potential health risks

Diagnostic Laboratory Studies

  • Complete blood count
  • Total cholesterol profile (HDL, LDL) and triglycerides
  • Basic metabolic profile
  • Liver profile
  • Magnesium
  • Phosphorus
  • Ferritin (iron)
  • Thyroid function (T3, T4, TSH)
  • Urinalysis
  • Fecal occult blood test

Cardiovascular Testing
Resting electrocardiogram – read by a board-certified cardiologist

Radiology Study
Chest X-ray (two views)

Fitness and Lifestyle

  • Body fat analysis
  • Flexibility analysis
  • Lung function analysis

Audiology & Vision

  • Hearing acuity screen
  • Visual acuity screen


Platinum Exam
Recommended annual exam for men and women (age 50 and older), which includes all services of the Gold Exam, plus:

Diagnostic Laboratory Studies

  • Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) – males only
  • Ovarian cancer screen (CA 125) – females only

Cardiovascular Testing
Graded exercise stress test – read by a board-certified cardiologist

Optional Services
Colonoscopy
Recommendation:

  • Age 50 or older: A baseline colonoscopy is recommended if there is no family history of polyps or colon cancer. Procedure should be repeated every 10 years if baseline is normal.
  • 49 and younger: If there’s a family history of polyps or colon cancer; or a family member is younger than age 50 when diagnosed with colon cancer, a baseline colonoscopy is recommended five years earlier than the age of the person when diagnosed.

Heart Scan
CT-scan to determine coronary heart disease and only detects calcifications within coronary arteries.

Wellness Consultation with a registered dietitian or licensed social worker

Women’s Optional Services

  • Mammogram

International Patients
Serving the needs of international patients and their families, St. Luke's International Patient Center (IPC) understands that visiting a hospital, especially in a foreign country, can be challenging. St. Luke's IPC Team is here to assist 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year with services, such as a second opinion, physician appointments and hospital scheduling, travel and airport assistance, hotel reservations and/or long-term housing, interpretation and translation services.
